What does this testing entail?
A Holter monitor is a portable device that records your heart rhythm while you are awake and asleep. The recording helps your doctor understand intermittent changes in your heart’s electrical activity over an extended period.
Our team will explain how to use your specific monitor. Showering is typically not permitted while wearing a 48-hour device.
How should I prepare?
Bring your signed requisition and valid OHIP card. Arrive 15 minutes early, wear comfortable clothing and do not apply cream or lotion to your upper body.
How long is the test?
Fitting takes approximately 15 minutes. You will return the monitor at the end of the prescribed wearing period.
